Lee Ann Kurr (she/her) is a writer, director, and tall person. She comes from a classical acting background, having trained with the London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts, the American Shakespeare Center, the Harrisburg Shakespeare Festival, and the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey. She skipped a couple ragers and graduated summa cum laude with honors in Theatre Arts (B.A.) from Drew University. She still wonders if she should’ve just gone to the ragers.

She tells female-centered coming-of-age stories about transformative encounters with the fantastical.

Lee Ann’s feature screenplay PERSEPHONE, a rom-com re-imagining of the Greek myth, was an Academy Nicholl Fellowship Semifinalist.

STUDENT BODY, which she wrote, directed, and co-produced, is her debut feature film. The film stars Christian Camargo (See, The Hurt Locker, Dexter), Montse Hernandez (Jane the Virgin), Cheyenne Haynes (Camping), Harley Quinn Smith (Cruel Summer, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood), Anthony Keyvan (Love, Victor), and Austin Zajur (Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark). STUDENT BODY is represented by MPX Films and distributed by 1091 Pictures. The film is available for rent or purchase on all major on-demand platforms.

Lee Ann lives in Los Angeles with her husband and her surviving plants.
